Lock 30 of the Canal de Castilla
Oval-shaped lock on the southern branch of the Canal de Castilla
Lock 30 is one of the 18 locks on the southern branch of the Canal de Castilla. As a whole, the Canal has 49 locks that allowed unevenness to be overcome as well as the use of the driving force through mills, millers, fulling mills, etc. Oval-type locks, such as lock number 30, belong to the first stage of construction of the hydraulic work. They have gates at the bottom and mechanisms that allowed them to be closed using a guillotine system.
