Annual events calendar

So many artistic events take place in Palencia throughout the year that culture has become one of its hallmarks. The city hosts many concerts and festivals, such as the Palencia Sonora Festival and the "Jazz Palencia" International Jazz Festival. All musical styles, from the most classical to the most avant-garde, have their place in a programme that caters to very different audiences. The visual arts have a very important network of exhibition spaces, both public and private, showing the best of painting and photography. Holy Week, declared a Festival of International Tourist Interest, the Palencia International Film Festival, the 'Ciudad de Palencia' Theatre Festival and Terroríficamente Cortos are other must-see cultural events in a city that, in summer, also brings the best of culture and art out onto the streets.
