The Castilian Soup or garlic soup is one of the most typical Castilian dishes, a recipe that is part of the simple, practical, nutritious and economical cuisine that defined Tierra de Campos.

The Castilian Soup is made with slices of loaf of bread cut into thin strips, cooked with water, garlic and paprika in a clay pot and left to rest on the fire. Once it is done, add scalded egg and tacos of serrano ham with bacon. It is a dish typical of the winter months, with great nutritional value. A well-known variant of Castilian Soup is its crusted version, which is produced by burning the upper part in the wood oven.
