This modern sports facility has become an icon of the city for its uniqueness. Inaugurated on October 10, 2006, its architect Patxi Mangado was awarded the National Architecture Award in 2007. Minimalist and contemporary in style, it stands out for its four lighting towers that, with or without light, draw an effect on the Palencia sky surprising to look at. The interior of the stadium, equipped with 8,100 seats in the stands, allows a smooth circulation to the spectators and a good vision of the pitch. The natural grass hosts the Palencia football and rugby teams in their respective national leagues.
