Episcopal Palace and Diocesan Museum
Located in the Episcopal Palace, it gathers a spectacular collection of religious art
Located in the Episcopal Palace (18th century) it houses an interesting and valuable collection of works of art from different churches and temples in the province. The paintings by Berruguete, Juan de Flandes and Zurbarán, several Romanesque sculptures from the 12th and 13th centuries and the carvings by Alejo de Vahía excel. There are also many works by great masters of painting, sculpture, religious archeology or textiles. Particularly interesting is the section that the Museum dedicates to goldsmithing, in which medieval and Renaissance processional crosses are worth a special mention. The sections dedicated to watchmaking, ornaments or choral books are also very interesting. The exhibition is completed with Calvaries, Romanesque baptismal fonts, carvings and sculptural groups dating from the 12th, 12th and 14th centuries.
